Classwork:  Today we discussed test-taking strategies for the upcoming MAP tests.  MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing for math will be conducted on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 4-5, during students' regular math class.

Turned-in:   nothing

Homework:  none... other than I had suggested that while we are in "MAP-Testing Mode", students might want to spend some time checking out some genral math websites or other math resources that might quiz then on any math up through 4th grade level, as that is what will be tested this round (We really haven't gotten far ebnough into the year to be able to test them on general acquisition of 5th-grade standards skills).  Even playing math puzzles, such as Ken-Ken or Sudoku, will help them brush up on basic skills, and get their minds in a "Mathematical mindset".

Notes:  Homework that was originally scheduled to be due today (Unit 1 packet: pg. 36), now will be due on Monday, Oct 8, AFTER we have finished with the MAP testing.
