Spring Fling Info:
Spring Fling Parent Information Form
Regardless of if you are able to attend or not, the Spring Fling Committee is hopeful you'll take the time to fill out this quick online parent information form to better help them plan for this year's fun-filled event. It should only take a few minutes of your time: http://tinyurl.com/j592bmh

Share Your Talents - Volunteer for the Spring Fling
The Hale/Field Foundation is in need of parents like you to share your talents in preparation for the 4/30/16 Spring Fling. Check out the options and sign up to volunteer here http://vols.pt/Hzdfk2
The Hale/Field Spring Fling is an annual adult-only fundraising event with food, cocktails, dancing and fun that raises tens of thousands of dollars each year for our school. Historically the funds raised have been used to supplement math, music, science, reading programs, field trips, traveling iPads and Smart Boards for classrooms as well as requests from teachers and administrators that implement the mission of "expanding education opportunities beyond the traditional boundaries of public education." So come join your neighbors and friends (and make a few new ones), as we make this the best Spring Fling ever! For more information on volunteering for the 2016 Spring Fling visit http://vols.pt/Hzdfk2 or contact Jackie Just (jackie@just-bloomed.com)

Almost all homework and class assignments are available on Husby's school web page.   (Click on "Homework" or "Class Assignments.")
Our work with ratio and rates ended on Friday with a final assessment.  Please check the portal for updated grades.  The quarter is not over, students will have many opportunities to continue to have fabulous grades or catch-up on missing work to improve their understanding.

The students are required to complete the district interim assessment for quarter 3.  I felt it was a good time to do this before we start our algebra unit.  This assessment will NOT effect the students grades.  The district is gathering information about 6th graders by requiring this interim assessment.

Mon: District Interim Assessment Quarter 3
Tues: District Interim Assessment Quarter 3
Wed:  New unit:  check out book-Variables and Patterns
Thurs: Number line work
Fri:  Coordinate graphing

Homework Assignments: Students will have math homework assignment every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The assignment is due the next day.  Students are expected to write the assignment in their planner at the beginning of every class period.  Please check planners!  Homework is designed to help students practice skills taught in the classroom.  We take notes in class and have practice problems written down in the students' notebooks, so they have a reference/help resource when completing the homework each night.  The time it takes students to finish the assignments will vary based on the students ability, but NO ONE should spend more than 30 minutes completing an assignment.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

READ 180: Next Generation

This week in READ 180 students will take the rSkills end-of-workshop test on Workshop #5: Under Pressure.   The essential question for the unit was: How can teens handle the pressures they face?  Students will prepare for the rSkills test by reviewing vocabulary from the workshop and taking
the comprehension wrap up test. We will begin Workshop#7:
Alien Invaders on Thursday.
