Fresh start!
This week we begin a new marking period!
More Paper Bags Needed Please:  Thank you for all that have been coming in.  More paper bags (from Cub, Target) are needed for a classroom activity in MN Studies!  They will not be returned.  Any you could send  in to Ms. Wucherpfennig would be appreciated.
From PTA and Field-Regina- Northrop Neighborhood Group:
In September 1971 Hale and Field Community Schools were paired by the Minneapolis Public School District to provide a demonstration project in quality integrated education.  The success of the pairing can be attributed to the activism of community leaders and parents who believed in desegrating our schools and neighborhood.  Please join us on Thursday, November 9 from 6-8 pm at Field Community School as we recognize these leaders and celebrate the 45th Anniversary of our school's landmark pairing.
This memorable event will feature video interviews with the community leaders who spearheaded the pairing, a panel discussion about past and present barriers to equitable education, guest speakers who helped get the Hale-Field partnership started, and choir and jazz music by current Hale and Field students.
While we hope to see you all on November 9th, it would not be possible for this event to succeed    without the support of volunteers. Please consider donating your time, talents, or money to this historic event.
  • To make a financial donation: visit www.frnng.org/halefield1971 or send a check to FRNNG, 1620 E 46th Street, Mpls, MN 55407.  Sponsors that donate $100 or more will be recognized in the Program Sponsor list and the Close To Home FRNNG Newsletter in December.
  • To volunteer your time and talent: contact FRNNG education committee chair Terry Mazig at education@frnng.org

UPCOMING FIELD TRIP!!  6th graders will be going to the MN History Center/Capitol on Tuesday, Dec. 5!  Trip will include free exploration of the History Center/Fur Trade Class at History Center and a tour at newly renovated State Capitol.  Look for details in the field trip slip coming home on Thursday!  Return slips to Ms. Wucherpfennig!
Here's to a good school week!
    Language Arts
Excited for another great week with 6th grade!

Reminder: Please check in with your student on their Outside Read Book and encourage them to begin a new book if they have finished! Outside Read check ins will occur at the end of Quarter 2.
As plans change very frequently in ELA, it's best to check my "What Did I Miss?" Google Folder to check in with what we did that day in ELA and what homework or assignments need to be completed. This folder is updated once a week or so.

Homework or assignments from Quarter 1 will not be accepted after Wednesday November 1st due to the grading deadline.
