LOVE 6th GRADE PARENTS!  Thank you to all the parents sending in beads and bags! :)  -Ms. Wucher

Volunteer Opportunity
Parents!  Want to have some fun on Fridays?  Do you have half an hour to spend quality time with some delightful 6th graders?   Well, do we have a deal for you!
On Fridays during Advisory (10:45-11:15), some students celebrate their week by engaging in various fun activities.  Some students use this time to catch up on assignments, organize their binders, or get extra help with learning they struggle with.  The more adults we have available, the more attention we can give, and the more activities we can offer.  If this is something you are interested in helping with, please e-mail alan.husby@mpls.k12.mn.us, and we will start getting organized ourselves!

Hale & Field No-Sale Fundraiser:
(From co-chairs Trisha Hanson and Melanie Faulhaber)
Since 2003, the No-Sale Fundraiser has been the primary funding for our PTAs.  Traditional fundraisers are a lot of trouble.  Instead, we simply ask you to make a donation in support of the wonderful quality education students in our community are receiving -- and see 100% of your donation going to these great schools and it is 100% tax deductible!
You can donate TODAY at https://givemn.org/ - search No Sale and donate directly to Hale or Field.  Scroll down to click on the Hale project or Field project, depending on which school you want to donate to.
All donations received now through midnight on November 12th, which is the official "Give to the Max Day" count toward the prizes given from GiveMN.  We have been in the top 3 Small Non-Profits for the last 2 years. Let's continue to build on this streak!

Almost all homework and class assignments are available on Husby's school web page.   (Click on "Homework" or "Class Assignments.")
Students worked on calculating area and circumference of a circle all last week.  The learning target quiz results from Friday are in the portal.  BEST classes were arranged based on the students meeting the standards or not. They will work on getting more practice to successfully complete a re-take, or they will continue working on their "Plan a Park" project.

This week we are finding the surface area of 3-D shapes and will have a learning target quiz on Thursday.  Next week is volume and then the final unit assessment.

Homework Assignments: Students will have math homework assignment every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  The assignment is due the next day.  Students are expected to write the assignment in their planner at the beginning of every class period.  Please check planners!  Homework is designed to help students practice skills taught in the classroom.  We take notes in class and have practice problems written down in the students' notebooks, so they have a reference/help resource when completing the homework each night.  The time it takes students to finish the assignments will vary based on the students ability, but NO ONE should spend more than 30 minutes completing an assignment.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
