Greetings. We are all saddened by the death of Ms. Halasz's mother this past weekend. Mary Catherine was there with her and will remain in Indiana this week with her family.

Meanwhile, we are finishing up our exploration of Dystopian Literature with a Compare/Contrast paper focusing on "Harrison Bergeron" and "2BR02B." The final draft of this paper was due on Monday.

We will spend the remainder of this week with some creative writing as well as the film, "The Truman Show," where we will indentify the Dystopian elements as we go along. May your winter break be full of relaxing family time! Ms. Meyer

    Math - Mr. West

    Social Studies -- Ms. Odermatt

This week we will finish our study of Europe by focusing on the eastern countries. We will have a map test of Eastern Europe on Friday. Any students that will miss school can choose to make it up either before or after break. Have a wonderful winter break with your family!

    Science - Mr. Boler

Q2 Test is Wednesday December 21st. Students who need to can take the test early or on Thursday or Friday.

Students should study: 1) the test review packet 2) all past RA's, AF's and Notes (bring home your assignment folder and notebook), and 3) go to the 7th grade science website and review past weekly reviews, Foss web site, and relevant content links.

We will end the week learning more about common microscopic organisms from the fungi, monera, and protista kingdoms.

    AVID decades of college dreams

We had a wonderful trip to William Mitchell College of Law on Friday. The college was thrilled to have us and truly rolled out the red carpet for our visit.

Field students asked excellent questions during the presentations from Professor Oramalu, Professor Juergens as well as the student panel. They also listened and participated in a discussion with Judge Toussaint as he prepared them for their mock trials. We were able to go into courtrooms to do the mock trials, which was a highlight for most students.

William Mitchell has already written an article on their website, about the students who spoke in our classroom on the 9th. It is a wonderful article, and includes some pictures of the William Mitchell students, as well as Mr. Kambale and myself. They would rather include pictures of Field students from our visit, however, we are waiting for the remaining media release forms. If you don't wish to sign the media release form, please send a note with your child, and I will crop or not include those pictures. Students are excited to see their pictures on the Law school website, so please sign the remaining media release forms and return them to me as soon as possible!
