Welcome back 8th graders and families!

It was a pleasure meeting many of you at Open House last week!  I look forward to connecting with the rest of our students and families in the upcoming months.

I will be sending home a syllabus this week that will include an overview of the upcoming year, our class expectations, routines, and contact information. This will also be available on my website (SOON!).  Please feel free to contact me through my email account if you have any further questions.

STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A NOTEBOOK FOR ELA CLASS BY THIS THURSDAY!
(Sorry. This was not on the supply list.)

Our first week we will include building and establishing our classroom culture, expectations, and routines.

Monday:  Syllabus / Goals
Tuesday: Expectations / Routines
Wednesday:  Cornell Notes:"The Road Not Taken"
Thursday & Friday: Identify the qualities of an "ideal" community- preparing for "The Giver"

Look for a 1,000,000 words (or less) assignment this upcoming Wednesday. This is an assignment for parents to complete, with input from their child.  This assignment will be due the following Wednesday (9/3)!

Namaste!
