Our Mission

The primary mission of Field Community School is to ensure that all students learn.  To this end, we are committed to providing opportunities for all of our students to reach their highest academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative potential.
Our Vision
  • For the third year out of the last four, Field's average grade 8 Science MCA II scores are among the highest of all reporting public and non-public schools in the state.
  • Field regularly surpasses the 95% attendance goal.
  • More than half the student body participates in an instrumental or choral group.
  • Many students participate in Science Bowl each year.
  • The grade 5-6 madrigals and grade 7-8 choirs have had the opportunity to record a CD and perform at various venues in the city.
  • Math teams have won numerous awards in district and state competitions.
  • Girls in Engineering, Mathematics and Science (GEMS) is offered to girls in grades 5-8.
  • Guys in Science and Engineering (GISE) is offered to 5th-8th grade boys.
  • We have fielded strong sports teams, many of which have represented our school in city championships. This fall, our flag football team ended the season with citywide trophies for first place.
  • Visual arts have been displayed and several musical groups have performed in Viva City.
  • Students at all grade levels participate in various community service projects.
  • Students have been instrumental in designing, creating and maintaining our Peace Garden Site and Hope Garden Site.
  • Students at all grade levels participate in the school level Spelling Bee.
  • Two Free Little Libraries are on the grounds.
  • Field has a strong PTA, community and volunteer support.
