The beginners are into their 3rd week of learning their instrument and are anxious to play together in band. They should be writing their practice time in the chart at the front of their books.

5/6 graders should be turning in their September practice chart and getting one form October.

All of the string & band groups have had their first playing test except the beginners.
Check the portal to see how well your child is learning their music.

All students need to turn in the 'Band and Orchestra' registration form. It's time to order the shirts for our concert uniform. If your child needs a shirt and you haven't sent in the form, now is the time! I've been telling the students who has or has not turned in a form.

*I added a date on the calendar for Jazz Band. The festival at the University of MN is Sat., March 4

Below is the link to the music webpage that will give you up to date information on concerts, forms & lists of private lesson teachers.

It's easiest to contact me via email, but feel free to call when needed.

Hello Field Families!

If you have not done so already, please check out my new teacher website:    http://fieldchoirguitar.weebly.com/

Be advised, the date for the B&N BOOK FAIR has been moved 2 weeks later to Monday, November 28th.     This is the first day back from Thanksgiving break, and it's also NOT a choir (black) day... so it's important we don't have anyone forget!!

FORMS (Choir dues, Guitar Book/Rental, Music Shirts)

There are still quite a few students who haven't turned in all of their forms.   We need to order the Field Music Shirts before November 1st, so please get those in ASAP if you haven't done so already!

Our annual fall fundraiser will begin on Monday, October 10th.  This fundraiser is open (not required) to all 7/8 grade choir and guitar students.   Profits from products sold by CHORALE and CONCERT CHOIR students will go towards their individual contribution for the upcoming CHOIR TOUR to NORTH DAKOTA on May 26-27th, 2017.  Profits sold by guitar students will go towards the Field Scholarship Fund.

Customer money should be collected at the point of sale.  Please make checks out to "Field School".  All BB forms/money must be turned in to me by Friday, October 28th.

The yummy frozen pastry products must be picked up after school on Friday, November 18th.  I could really use a couple parent volunteers to help sort boxes of pastries when they arrive at 1:45pm on Nov. 18th, so let me know if you are available!

Questions / Concerns?   Don't hesitate to email me directly.

Outstanding Students at Field School!
Hello Students and Families!

Below is an important message from the organizer of Twin Cities Marathon,
Larissa Parr.
Please participate and celebrate!

Hello Field Families,
As you may be aware, heath experts are paying particular attention to opportunities that teach children to incorporate active lifestyles into their every day routine in an effort to help reduce the trend in increasing childhood obesity. We think it's important to teach children that being active can be enjoyable as well as healthy.

Medtronic TC Kids Marathon was created by Twin Cities In Motion with significant support from Medtronic, to promote exercise, wellness and healthy lifestyles for kids and their families through a variety of unique training programs and events.

Our schools will be participating in the Medtronic TC Family Events to be held at the State Capitol on Saturday, October 8. The event incorporates the TC 5K and TC 10K, the Diana Pierce Family Mile and Half Mile runs giving children of all ages the chance to run to meet personal goals and physical fitness levels. For more information about the races, check out: https://www.tcmevents.org/events/medtronic_twin_cities_marathon_weekend_-_october_7-9_2016/family_events/

Registration for this event is done online by parents, for their children. You will need the name of our school to select in the wave selection. Our school name for this event is FIELD SCHOOL. You can access the registration by logging in:

The cost for the event is $10 for the mile and half mile distances, $35 for the TC 5K and $40 for the TC 10K. Discount codes and scholarship codes are available. If you need help accessing the internet, please let me know. I will compile the registrations for our school once everyone has registered. On race day we encourage you to attend as a supportive spectator.
Twin Cities In Motion has established a scholarship program with funds available for families who wish to participate in the run but are unable to due to financial circumstances. The process is completely anonymous. Please contact Larissa Parr if you need a scholarship and she will walk you through it.

All run participants will receive a T-shirt, medal and race number. The event takes place at the State Capitol in and around the Finish Line of the Twin Cities Marathon in St. Paul. After the event we encourage you to stay and visit the Family Activities Tent located on the grounds or stop by the Health and Fitness Expo held at the RiverCentre. These events are free and open to the public.

Packets will be available for pickup Friday afternoon, Oct. 7th at Hale School.
I hope that you and your child will consider participating in this exciting event. More details will follow as we get closer to the event. If you have questions, please feel free to email me or contact Sandy at the Twin Cities In Motion office at 651-289-7709.
Happy running,
Larissa Parr & Ashley Bruun
