I am so happy to join the Field School staff. The students have been amazing and so eager to make art!

I've been a Minneapolis teacher for 17 years. I taught in Mounds View prior to that and worked in museum education before becoming an actual teacher. I studied Textile Design and Art History at the University of Kansas and then did my Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota. I love school so much that I am working slowly on a Masters in Arts and Cultural Leadership at the UMN.

I am a fiber artist and love being knee deep in projects. I love to sew and make stuff with my sewing machine, knitting and spinning wool are also fiber passions for me. You can never have too much yarn.

Though I grew up in Kansas, I now call myself a Minnesotan. My family lives in South Minneapolis and I have twin 19 year olds and a 14 year old Freshman. My husband is a designer and we often have artful projects happening at home.

I love biking, nordic skiing and trail running and am super involved with the Washburn High School Mountain Bike team as well as a coach for Girls on the Run.
