Welcome back, Field families!

Thanks to the support of parents like you, Field’s Parent/Teacher Association (PTA) was able to cover the cost of more than $25,000 worth of school expenses last year!

 

This money was used to pay for a wide range of critical resources, like the buses that transport our children on field trips, the supplies students use to create art, the sheet music they play at concerts, the sport equipment they play with in gym class, and even the tools used to keep their school safe and clean.

 

Where does this money come from?

 

·     The No-Sale Fundraiser: Our biggest fundraiser is in November, in coordination with Give MN and its Give to the Max Day (November 15th this year). Instead of selling products, during this “no-sale” fundraiser each family has the opportunity to simply make a tax-deductable financial contribution to Field. All proceeds go to the Field PTA and are then allocated back to Field School. Your involvement in this event has an added bonus of helping us win golden tickets and earn extra funds! Please check if your employer has matching funds that can also be contributed. 

 

·     Summer Soiree: Toward the end of the school year, we hold an annual fundraising event jointly with the Hale PTA. Last year’s event at Carbones was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers and attendees. Parents connect; eat fantastic food, bid on silent auction items and Great Gatherings while supporting our children's education. Each PTA receives 50% of the proceeds. 

 

·     The Hale and Field Plant Sale: Partnering with local growers who supply plants and flowers for the sale, funds are raised to support the landscaping around both Field and our sister school Hale in addition to other school funding needs.

 

·     Book Fairs: Field coordinates two book fairs each school year, one through Barnes & Noble and a second through Scholastic Books. Both fairs offer the community a chance to purchase books for themselves or family members, while at the same time earning money for new books and educational magazine subscriptions for Field classrooms.

 

The PTA also raises money through smaller, but equally vital volunteer-led programs like Box Tops for Education, the sale of Field spirit wear (like T-shirts and sweatshirts), roller-skating parties, and dine-out nights at local restaurants.

We also engage in philanthropic efforts like hosting drives for things like holiday gifts or hygiene products to ensure families in need from our Field community have a positive middle school experience.
