Welcome to 6th Grade English Language Arts!
Me hugging Shakespeare's childhood home in Stratford upon Avon

I absolutely love being a member of our Field Community! I currently hold a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, as well as certificates in Educational Policy and Education and Educational Services from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

My teaching philosophy is to create and teach English Language Arts curriculum based on educational theory and pedagogy such as critical literacy, culturally relevant pedagogy, equity, empathy, classroom community building, perspective taking, and dialogism. It is an important aspect of my teaching that my students walk out of my room having honed not only their academic skills, but coming into their own while having learned valuable and vital life lessons as well.

The best way to reach of me is by email: emily.ringold@mpls.k12.mn.us.
