INFORMATION AND REMINDERS
Meet the 2019-20 Field PTA Board Members
Hello! My name is Erin Mitchell and I am joining the Field PTA this year as Co-Chair with Rachel Walker. My husband, James, and I have lived in the Northrop neighborhood for 15 years. We have two sons, Cameron, who will be a 6th grader at Field, and Donovan, who will be a 3rd grader at Hale. I work very part-time as a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. I have volunteered for many different events at Hale over the years and am looking forward to working more with the Field community.

Hi everyone, I am Rachel Walker and this will be my second year on the Field PTA Board. My daughter will be in 7th grade this year. My husband, Rob Weigel, and I also have a 4th grade daughter at Hale. We have lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and really enjoy all the wonderful things to do that are right outside our front door - bike, walk, kayak on the lake, ice skate, etc. We also love trying out all the neighborhood ice cream and donut places! When I am not at home or volunteering at school, I work as a Policy Analyst for the League of Minnesota Cities.

My name is Wendy Naughton. This is my first year serving as Co-Secretary for the Field PTA. I have two sons, a 7th grader at Field (Gus) and a 4th grader at Hale (Archie). I am originally from Nebraska and, in total, I've moved to Minneapolis from other states a total of three times. I just keep coming back! My last interstate move was from CO to MN 15 years ago and the main reasons were: 1. To return my South Minneapolis-native husband, Ervin, to his family (as I'd promised them) and 2. To start my new job teaching Chemistry at MCTC (rebranded just last year to Minneapolis College).  I still teach there and I love my job! I love living in South Minneapolis too! We've had many positive experiences being part of the Hale/Field community and I look forward to more in the coming year.

My name is Jeanelle Rasmussen-Jones and I am one of the new Co-Secretaries with Field PTA. My 6-year-old daughter, Jemma, is starting 1st grade at Hale and my 13-year-old son, Hayden, is starting 7th Grade at Field. I've spent several years volunteering at various events at both Hale and Field including Art Adventure, Field Holiday Helpers, Hale lunchroom helper and Hale/Field Summer Soirée (formerly known as Spring Fling.) I love getting to know the kids and parents through my involvement in these activities. In my free time, I enjoy bike rides, yoga and reading. Jemma was very excited to learn to ride on two wheels this summer, and it's been fun to explore the city with all of us riding independently. I'm looking forward to supporting the Field community this coming year!

My name is Angie Helland and I am the PTA Treasurer. My husband, Luke, and I have been married for 19 years and have four kids: Denali (10th grade), McKinley (8th grade), Danika (6th grade) and Bridger (2nd grade at Windom). Our family is rounded out by an ornery German shepherd dog named Minne. I'm looking forward to continuing to build a strong community at Field.

Hey! My name is Trisha Hanson. I am the Field Membership Chair and also the No-Sale Fundraiser Co-Chair. My day job is as a Human Capital Partner at UnitedHealth Group. My husband, Tim, and I have lived in Minneapolis for almost 20 years. We have four kids that keep us busy with sports, music and fun! We enjoy Wisconsin Badger football games and while I will always be a Badger at heart, we also love to cheer on the Minnesota Timberwolves. I have been fortunate to be involved with the Hale and Field community for over ten years and the Washburn community for two years. We will miss Hale dearly but are very excited to be in only two schools this year. Capri (14) will join her brother, Tucker (16) at Washburn, and Calia (10) will join her big brother, Mac (12) at Field. We are looking forward to more fun times this year building memories and creating moments that matter with family and friends! Welcome back to school!

My name is Jessica Burmaster and this is my second year serving as the Field PTA Communications Chair. I have been a part of the Hale/Field community since 2006 when my oldest son, Will, started Kindergarten. Now I'm preparing to help him move into his dorm next week (gulp!). Fortunately, it's just four miles up the road at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities but it's still a big change! I'm confident my other two kids will still keep me plenty busy with sports, music, driving practice (another gulp!) and other activities. Carter will be a sophomore at Washburn and Izzy a 6th grader here at Field. My husband, Bob, and I have lived in South Minneapolis for almost 18 years and will celebrate our 20th anniversary this Fall. Wow, time flies! I'm ready to get back to keeping you updated through our monthly newsletters and weekly "This Week at Field" updates. Be sure to follow Field Community School PTA on Facebook as well!

PTA Committee Chairs Needed
A new year means new vacancies for PTA Committee Chairs. If you've never served on a committee or are looking for a new way to get involved, the Field PTA needs you! If you are interested in any of the following positions, please contact Rachel Walker at rachel@robandrachel.org or Erin Mitchell at erin.mitchell1320@gmail.com. You can also stop by the PTA table at the Open Houses to talk to a PTA Board member. We are looking for:

Yearbook Advisor: Any former yearbook editors or staffers out there? We are looking for a new Yearbook Advisor. The yearbook is a beloved tradition at Field and it needs a new leader.

Music Event Coordinator: This position would help coordinate volunteers for band and choir concerts and events.
No Sale Fundraiser Committee Co-Chair: This Co-Chair is responsible for getting information out to Hale and Field via Constant Contact (training is provided) and Facebook. You would also work with the Hale and Field Communications Chairs and the No Sale Co-Chair, Trisha Hanson, to come with ideas of how to promote the fundraiser. It is a fundraiser that pretty much runs itself and it's really fun to help raise money for our schools.

Flu Shot Clinic Co-Chair: This position would assist Erin Mitchell in coordinating the Flu Shot Clinic that is scheduled for October 8 at Field.
