Field PTA Board

Greetings, Field families. One quarter down, three to go!

This Thursday is a big day:

First of all, it's Give to the Max Day. If you have not yet made a contribution to our annual No Sale Fundraiser, please consider making your donation at that time. Thanks for your consideration.
After you've made your donation, please join us in the media center from 6:30-8 p.m. for a parent workshop on how to think and talk differently: 3 Steps to Stop Fighting and Reconnect with your Adolescent. Family therapist Corey Busch will share simple strategies we can use to fight less and to help our adolescents stay on the right track. And if that's not enough to entice you out of the house after dark, cookies and beverages will be provided!

Next week is Thanksgiving, which can mean only one shopping is sure to follow (if you haven't started already!).
I have a few things to share with you in that regard:

On the Monday after Thanksgiving, join us for the Barnes & Noble book fair at Galleria in Edina to be entertained by the talented musicians of Field School from 6-7:30. If you decide to buy something while you're there, be sure to mention that you're with Field School as a portion of proceeds will go to the school.

Need gift ideas for the Field Mouse on your list? Well, good news! The Spirit Wear Sale has finally begun! Orders are due by 11/22 and will be delivered before winter break.

In the spirit of the season, we hope you will consider becoming a Field Holiday Helper. If you are able to make the holidays brighter for Field families in need, please volunteer by this Wednesday.

Finally, thanks to all of you who voted Yes for Kids on Election Day. We hope that you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving.

Give MN Day, Thursday November 17
Look for daily information starting tomorrow. Save your donation for Thursday November 17. Our goals are: to raise $20,000.00 for Field School, to increase our donor participation and to win prizes! Share the donation information with family, friends and neighbors. The money raised goes back to Field school to support and supplement programs in the school.

Spirit Wear is HERE!
At long last, our spirit wear is ready for purchase online. Display your Field pride in style with hats, tees, and sweatshirts. If you have questions contact Kate at
  • The store is open now through November 22nd; NO orders will be taken after that date.
  • Items will arrive before winter break.
  • You will need to know your child's Advisory teacher when placing the order.
  • There is a gift option which will not send your items to your student in advisory, but will need to be picked up instead.

Holiday Helpers
Please join our Field Holiday Helper volunteer program and make a difference in the lives of students and families this holiday season.

Helpers are anonymously matched with a child or family providing gifts, and other essentials based on their personal wish lists.

Last year over 23 Field families had a brighter holiday season thanks to the generous contributions from Field students, families, staff and local businesses.

To be a Field Holiday Helper fill out this form and return it to school or email to by Wednesday November 16th.
Soon thereafter you will receive information regarding your holiday recipient.

Save the Date Speaker Night Thursday November 17 at Field

Host Families Needed for Colombian Exchange Students
Field will be hosting a group of Colombian students February 5th through February 12th, 2017. Every other year for the past 16 years Field families have graciously opened their homes to Colombian Students from the PTC Columbian Student Exchange. We still need 5 more families to host students.
We try to match students close to the host students age, so we will need 7-8th grade families.
Interested in learning more or wanting to host a student? Contact Field Parent Deirdre McMahon at or 612-823-4671.
