Field PTA Board

Wow, time flies! Can you believe it's October?
With parent teacher conferences starting this week, and MEA approaching, it feels like this school year is already flying by.
Please consider bringing in a dessert or snack for our teachers to go with the dinner the PTA supplies for the teaching teams! If you bring an item please feel free to drop it off in the office with Traci anytime on Thursday October 13th.
As you hopefully already know, it's almost "No-Sale Fundraiser" time. I know as parents we give our time, money, and we donate supplies to the school; but without the No-Sale and other fundraiser events our students would not have the supplies they need and help enhance the learning experience for our kids.  Personally, I feel the No Sale Fundraiser is a great way to help the school with fewer burdens to Hale and Field families. My son just got done selling something for an after-school activity and it's not much fun as well as time consuming (and we only earn a few dollars from the sale). The No Sale gives 100% of the proceeds to the school, and there's no running to sell and drop off items. Our big push day is November 17: Give to the Max Day; please join me in donating on this exciting day!
Every dollar counts and don't forget to see if your company has a matching donation program.

Flu Shot Clinic Tuesday October 11
Flu shots will be available at Field school on Tuesday October 11 from 2:30-6:30 at the Field Gym. This is a community event all are welcome.
There will be no flu mist this year, as it was found to be ineffective

Individuals with insurance should bring their insurance card, but will not be billed
No one will be turned away from getting a flu shot

Box Tops Due Monday October 24
Keep saving box tops! This is an easy fundraiser for our school. Check the website to find out more about box tops.

Picture Retake Day Wednesday October 26
Not happy with your school pictures this year? No worries! Get them retaken on Oct 26. You must bring back your original pack of pictures to get the retakes.

No Sale Fundraiser Begins November 1
The No Sale Fundraiser will begin soon! This is our biggest fundraiser for the Hale and Field PTA's. We will be sending out information about how you can donate, what the money is used for and how to spread the word to family and friends. Please save your donations for November 17, Give to the Max day so we can have a chance at monetary prizes for our school. Take time to check if your company does any matching donations and let family and friends know to mark November 17 as the day to donate to the Hale and Field PTA's. You will still be able to designate your donations for each school. Stay tuned for more information!

Referendum Information
MPS would like families to be aware of an upcoming referendum.
On Nov. 8, Minneapolis voters will be asked to renew the school district's current operating referendum authorization, which expires after the 2016-17 school year. If passed, funding would help Minneapolis Public Schools manage class sizes and provide supportive services and activities for students. The request would authorize the referendum for nine years and be annually adjusted for inflation. Property taxes are not projected to increase if the referendum renewal passes.

Please check out this link to make sure you know the facts prior to voting.
